'Oumuamua: The Solar System's 1st Interstellar Visitor Explained in Photos

Meet ‘Oumuamua: 1I/2017 U1, the first known interstellar object observed within our solar system. Its name means “a messenger from afar arriving first” in Hawaiian. ‘Oumuamua was first detected on Oct. 19, 2017, by astronomers using the Pan-STARRS1 telescope in Hawaii.
